Hey there! As I'm writing this my dreads are 7 months old already. I took loads of pictures of their progress but never got around to creating a timeline. So here goes!
Maybe some fun "dread-specs" to start with
:
* Method: Twist & Rip
* Sectioning: about 2.5cm squares
* Nr of dreads: started @12, brushed 2 out at 6 months
* Maintenance: only occasional palm-rolling
* Washing: every 3-4 days
* Shampoo: diluted baking-soda
* Conditioner: every week or so with diluted ACV
I created my dreads using the twist & rip method. My boyfriend helped me do the sectioning (squares of about 2.5 square cm). We left the top half of my head unsectioned so that I would have some dreads peeping out but loose hair on top.
Sectioning in squares!
After twisting & ripping ^^ I immediately took out all the elastic bands
First day after!
They're still super long and peeking out from under my hair.
Day 2, super soft and fuzzy!
After a week or so
Five weeks old, at my Bachelor graduation:

My dreads at 6 months old!
They've changed so much. They got fuzzy, then loopy, flattened out again, fattened up and shrank! I'm so happy I finally decided to get some dreads. Loving the process

A few days back, at 6.5 months I've decided to blunt my tips. Completely different look! They lost a bit of length because of this, but I think they'll look better in the long run.
Blunt tips! I'm especially loving the long one to the left. It has been my favorite for months! Somehow it stayed longer than all the other ones and got less loopy but knotted up real nice either way.
My loose hair still covers up most messiness in the top. I don't really like hiding them though!
For now I'm gonna leave it to this but I'll start adding pictures asap!
