Once upon a time I figured out the beauty of dreads and petty much before I knew it I had tossed the comb. Wait, that's not true. It actually came to my mind one day and after doing some research I was allready twist-and-ripping my hair. No sections, no nothing. So obviously that didn't work out... A few weeks later though, as I had fallen more and more in love with dreadlocks, I figured I still wanted to do this. So after discovering DT I knew all I needed to know to do it the right way. As I am lazy, and like the idea of doing things natural, I went for the freeform method. I stopped combing my hair at the 21st of may 2015. So yeah, here's my timeline  . Day one to day 16. Sections are slowly forming here  At this point it's just all curly. Somehow I was able to tie my hair with my hair...   |

Very exciting!!! Curly hair tends to lock up really well.

Welcome! I was going to say, it looks like you have naturally curly hair so that will all lock up in no time, I'm sure.

I forgot about taking pictures for a pretty long time... This is the only picture I could find in which you can kind of see how it was then. This was during our vacation in France. All the swimming did wonders to the knotting process  So now there's a jump to about 6 months. As you can see I've lost a lot of length.  As I have really fine, thin hairs there's a lot of frizz.  They are still shrinking up a lot and it's pretty much all loops by now. This is month 9:  You can really see the shrinking here one month later:  Also, here's a very flattering picture. The front hasn't been knotting up at all yet at this time.  Month 8:  Again, some super flattering pics.  The bottom is all blunted, while the top still has a lot of lose ends and frizz everywhere.  So yeah, here I am at 9 months. I've gained some length and although my mom doesn't quite fancy it, I'm really loving the messiness ;D     |
