The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

I posted a current pic and more loops in the original post. Also, since I decided to start dreading my hair in intermittent phases, it is really hard for me to easily post monthly updates since each section of the dreads have significant time differences. So here is a picture of my back lower half. The 3 lowest ones on my neck are all a year old. As the move up I would guess they are somewhere in the 6-8 month range.

Updates in the first post. I switched from imageshack to Imgur. I am missing some pictures to replace in the body, but whatev. The updates in the OG post show a current look update up top, and more pictures at the bottom to add to the timeline. Here is one for the body of the thread as well. Thanks for every looking in here, even if you do not comment

I have quite a bit of loose hair on the back of my head and behind my ears. I know it is mostly suggested to just leave them be and they will "find their way" but I have not seen any progress of the loose hair finding its way into a dread, especially near the ones that are a year or close to a year now. I may try some maintenance, I will keep you all posted on any changes.

Updated on the front. Current look at the top of the OG post, and timeline update at the bottom of OG post. 12/3/2017: 14 dreads are now a year old with the ones closest to my neck being the oldest at 1.5 years.

You started with such a great length! They're forming rather nicely.

The length and the girth is definitely coming through for these ones compared to 11 months ago. All these are now 2 years old, some older, and never had maintenance done.
