Ha. I have a shell that's been in my hair for 4 years much like yours I found on the beach. I don't really like putting stuff on my dreads but there are a few beads that found their way on them too over the years. I probably haven't even registered they are there for over a year.

Ahhhh!! I hade one just like this. Melissa made a whole series of them and it was my absolutely favourite for years until I dropped it on concrete. I love glass beads but don't really like the weight of them, so I generally prefer the thinner ones. I bought a few over the years that I kept even when I brushed out - thankfully! I can't wait to get this one back in my hair again.

Sweet! Melissa does seem to be a popular creator for dreadheads

Hello All! I love all of those! Im new to all of this and I've thought about making some myself out of polymer clay? Any tips? I'm new to the group as well so if this has already been explained on another post please point me in the right direction! Also, any advice on how to wear them? Like would it be okay to put them on some new dreads? And what is the best types of decoration for new Dreads? Thanks!

I can't help with making them (as far as I know from limited experience you can just follow the instructions on the clay you use, maybe doing a few experimental beads first so you know how much they'll shrink once baked), but I would say it's not really a good idea to wear beads on new dreads unless you move them about constantly. The hair needs to move around and the constriction from the bead will limit that, which can cause weak spots. I had that happen with my first set, which had a weak point between two sides of solid knots, so it flopped down at a right angle when lifted from one side!
