The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Hi again Delaney! (Making sure I spell it correctly)
Just gonna take this down for future reference
" I actually had to cut (ahhh I know but it was me or the dread) a dread down the middle. It had combined in a long rectangle and the corners were killing my scalp. I split it right down the middle and they feel so much better already. I'll keep an eye on them since I know they are structurally compromised"
Not dying, but I do have a dread like this. Like, it could feel much better if I did...but I was actually happy with it just earlier today so like dont want to do anything hasty. Did you rip them apart or cut them or what exactly?
Andt ok, so what happened with yours? Still there and going strong???
also, since you mentioned the weight loss, you can really see it in your last photos. Thumbs up!

Honestly your dreads are so new you could honestly resection them or with enough patience, split them by hand. They are fine actually! I think my roots have finally locked in most my dreads. There were a few I split and they were already so solid that scissors were my only real option. Luckily they came out okay, but they definitely have thin spots that aren't as solid but they are sound where it's important. I pulled the section from the root as far as I could, and once I couldn't get farther I split them carefully.

Don't go by my signature ticker, Delaney. I've actually had my first set for over 5months, but they look closer to yours tbh. This is Carrie btw. I think ...I know we have spoken before (old account).

I don't necessarily condone cutting dreads but if it is a situation where you're happier splitting it, your happiness comes first.

Yay update! Sorry, I really DID overlook this one in all the chaos today. But I always loved your timeline. So happy you are getting some length back now! I'm with ya, never seems long enough soon enough though. Sorry about your rogue one too. I don't really have that problem, although lookjnv back at my last comment here, well maybe my split dread was a similar thing. (Obvious diference being I split and you congoed)^^

(Obvious diference being I split and you congoed)^^ It was actually a dread that I split because it was way too large, then it went all crazy, and I congoed it back together haha. I guess it was destined to be a bit big.
