Ok I've had dreads for years and I keep them very clean and tidy and love them so much. But I've got lice for the second time in 2 years. First time I wanted a change and I just cut them off and kept them if I want to reattach them. So I beat the lice grew my hair back and reattached them. Now I have lice again and I'm determined to beat them! Problem is that I've tried almost everything. I've tried apple cider vinegar, salt, chili pepper powder and even 70%rubbing alcohol and water mixed together. Put a bag on my head right after applying and then rinsing off the next day. I did that for 2 weeks and still nothing. I tried pouring 70%rubbing alcohol gel into my hair twice a day for a week. I've tried 80% rubbing alcohol liquid. I have the viking style under cut and I would shave it daily so it would be Harder for them to live. I have now moved on to buying the strongest anti lice shampoo and spray and wash my hair with it twice a day. Also I wash my bed sheet every other day and pillow and still I can't beat them. I'm at wits end here and I'm really reaching out to have some sort of proper push in the right direction. Please help as I want to keep my awesome long and hard worked on dreads. Please help.

The only thing I've heard that works is pour alcohol on them leave it with a bag sealed over them for 30/40 minutes rinse and repeat every 3 days for 2 weeks, vacuum and wash all covers and get a lice spray to spray your house real good..Goodluck I hope u can beat these pesky insects..😟😞Oh and mix u up some water with tea tree oil essential oils and spray that on your hair once daily,I do this everyday as a prevention..hope this helps ya..

Lice love clean hair! From the sounds of it you have super lice, its been an epidemic around here. First let your hair dry completely then apply diatomaceous earth (food grade) to your scalp (make sure it stays dry DE doesn't work if it's wet). Next wash everything, clothes, beddings, floors, etc with hot water and make sure you run things through the dryer on high for at least 20 min. Keep doing this every other day. The good news is lice are species specific, meaning you can't spread them to animals and animals can't spread them to you. Once they are gone add a few drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo to help deter them.
Good luck.
