Hello all,
Before I took the plunge and finally decided to get dreads I did some research online, looking for the best methods and for local locticians etc. My brother had dreads back in the day composed of wax and unwashedness. Now i thought they looked awesome and to be fair i was envious as fuck, but could not bear the thought of not being able to shower and wash my hair. Bear in mind this was 20 years ago, the tinternet was not really a thing. So dread advice was fairly sketchy at best.
Fastforward to youtube and lazydreads. This fella gave such candid advice on dreads that I finally decided, fuck it! I have been envious of dreadheads for almost two decades pretty much (I am 39) so met a lovely lass on gumtree who locked my hair up for me.
Now it was not cheap. It also took nearly 12 hours, a combination of backcomb and twist and rip method. Pretty painful if I am honest. Despite that the loctician gave me good advice on how to maintain young dreads, keep them clean etc. Also following lazydreads advice, finally after two years of patience my dreads are maturing.
If anyone needs any dread advice i would seriously check out lazydreads on youtube. Its possible I am preaching to the choir in the majority, but for any folk needing prompts relating to their dread journey, this is the chap you need to check out.
Who on this forum came from lazydread advice?
If not who and where did you get your advice from?
