Hello all!
I used to have dreadlocks when I was younger (high school) although they were great times and a sort of fashion statement (I used to be a big stoner and wanted the world to know lol) I quickly came to realize I didn’t take really good care of them and they had to go eventually. Something happened after I cut them off..I started to develope really bad dandruff throughout the years till now and what’s weird is my scalp and hair get really oily!
Does anyone have a dandruff promblem then can’t get rid of? I tried all the dreadlock remedies and they worked for a bit and it would come back full force. Till this day I have to use head and shoulders daily and it really sucks because I want dreads again!
I also train jiu jitsu and it gets really sweaty doing hand to hand combat and rolling around on the mats! Not to mention all the nasty things I can pick up or contract during my time on the mat. Can I wash them daily? Any products or advice anyone can recommend for me?
Thank you all!

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

I use Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree shampoo for dandruff. It works wonders. I've always had dry/dandruffy hair though, never oily. With that, I work out near daily. I wash every 3 to 4 day, but I will do a scalp rinse every other if needed.

I'm going through this now too. Have always washed/rinsed in hot water and now washing in hot and rinsing in cold. Not changing much at the moment. But maybe I'm just not doing a good enough job rinsing and drying. Worrying about my hair not dreading up with it being so oily. Dandruff has cleared up quite a bit though so that's good.
