hi I have straight thin hair and I started my journey in the beginning of this month. In the beginning ive noticed they have fallen out alot and I've tried to maintain it with twist and rip. Only finding out today it's like putting me in day 1 again. 😑 Anyway to the point, my question is what do I do when my hair has absolutely no knots. I have a few "dreads" that are just loosely chilling. There's not even a small knot in the middle to hold it together. Thanks guys Sincerely -orangie

Wool rubbing is one of the better ways to start with short hair ^^ you could also just neglect, and they will form eventually!

It’s not going to hold at 3-4 inches. Unless you have very curly or Afro type hair. With wool rubbing you can use a wool hat or material and just keep rubbing your head clockwise, anti clockwise... so on. When ever you want. After a week or two you should start to get some knots holding from the general destruction. My hair wouldn’t start holding knots naturally until it had grown out to about 6 inches or more. Once sections start to hold your hair will dreadlock itself into it as it grows out.

Hey James thanks for the tutorial on how o to do it!! it's disappointing to hear that I need longer hair, all good though! I can't wait to start seeing thicker hair by doing this and in loooonng due time, dreads. I've noticed when I do this it gives my hair volume and makes me feel sexy 😎😍 hahahaha

My hair is also naturally very straight and fine, getting thinner, and even starting from shoulder length it still took a while to take. It was definitely an exercise in patience, and that was starting them off with a backcomb/t&r combo. It will get there, but you may just need to be prepared for it to take a little longer.
