I love that updo! And yes, the length is quite stunning. It's amazing what can happen in six years!

Cheers For the updo I pull the top section of hair into a plait, wrap it round my hand so it forms a bun, and pin it in place with a hair stick. Then I wrap the rest of the locks around the base, either in one or two sections depending how much got used for the initial bun. I tie it at the front then push one end under and the other over, so it's like a twisted rope. Sometimes the ends escape, which is what happened up top as it was a little loose and messy, but it looks good like that too. The longer it gets the easier it is to keep the ends tucked in. I generally secure it with one or two plain wooden hair sticks if it's feeling a bit wobbly.

Looking great! You look like you could disguise yourself in with the branches if you needed to

A few from the meet-up in October. I tend to wear it in a plait a lot these days. I had to brush out two naturally forming ones in the loose hair for a job in September, but it did give me an idea of how long it would take (six months) for locks to start forming without any help. Of course looking back through my timeline, even having started them off I didn't really feel there was decent progress until around the six month mark.

Oooh, I love a food dread plait! Your hair is just beautiful.
EDIT: *good dread plait. Autocorrect. A food dread plait sounds disgusting.

I have been following your dread timeline for as long as I have been on this site, and seeing them grow has been absolutely fascinating. Your dreads are simply beautiful xx
