Its great when you get your brain chemistry under control! I also had quite an anger problem, felt sort of addicted to losing my temper over almost everything...but I had a friend who made me feel quite embarrassed about my behaviour by laughing at me when id freak out, and so decided to be more aware of my temper flares. I still get quite annoyed and upset at times but its much less intense.
I'm curious but afraid to ask, uhm were you given medication to assist with your therapy?

Yes and luckily my sons whom are 19 and 22 years now have fully forgave me knowing I did get help

That's good. I have no idea what it's like to have children but as an addict's child I can say it's an exhilarating experience to forgive and accept...even though my own experience was a bit late...

I gave up the alcohol 4 years, one of the hardest things I've ever done! You loose a lot of friends when you stop. I was to the point of not being able to get through a day without a drink so... that's when I realized my habit is controlling my life so now I don't drink at all. I had to find other things to occupy my brain.. I did a lot writing and crocheting lol!! I have been wanting to stop smoking as well... but I really enjoy it!! Haha!!

Wow well done and good on you! You probably noticed other health benefits too...?
I also really enjoy smoking, but drinking I guess I love even more, and ja its bonding time for hubby and myself, we have so much fun and adventures getting wasted, lol!
But I suppose if he'd ever be open to the idea of skipping a night now and then my body would really appreciate it...lol! Don't think either of us would ever be able to quit...but we still have hobbies, especially food related 😍 it's just more fun with a beer in hand

I probably have the worst advise for people who want to stop smoking i say "just stop" I smoked heavily for 10 years then when i fell pregnant i just stoped because i guess i had no choice, then after giving birth i smoked the odd ciggy if i went out but still havnt taken it up full time, I find it easy to have a cigerette with a beer then forget about them. and remind myself i went over a year without smoking so its a waste of money and smells bad

It does smell really bad and you kind of only notice after abstaining for a while.. Guess that's one thought that makes me reluctant when I think of buying a pack these days.
I probably would indulge again at fests or going out...hehe

Its much harder to quit smoking when you think "i'm NEVER going to smoke another fag" I found with this mindset when i caved in after a stressful day i wasnt so disapointed in myself lol. I'm not sure where you live but in the UK tobacco is now SO expensive The cheapest pouch of tobacco I could buy the other day was £9.80!!!!!!

Aye, tobacco is so cheap in the US by comparison. I found it much easier to not slide when I moved back to the UK.
