I always noticed change faster & much more on the back of my head too. I always figured because that had the most pillow action every night.

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Hi everyone! Im about 3.5 months in and Ive noticed a lot of dreads starting to actually take shape and begin rounding. But i do have two that are pancakes now.. i tried to fix them haha, but I can see now its basically futile. I will let em be for now. Some of these little guys have just begun coming unspun at the root, which is totally fine to be because those are the ones i had to put back in about 1.5months deep into my journey. The back is really feeling like dreadlocks, but im noticing now that i have no dreads on the crown of my head. All the roots are along the sides..with one exception in the very centre of my crown. Has anyone else done this? I dunno why they were all rooted at the sides of my head.. wondering what will happen in 8 more months! Im 3.5ish months in, and Im still going strong. I have had those days where itd be easier to just cut them out. But i always remind myself how many years i waited for them, and its a pretty easy turn around. ^-^

Looks good. They don't look like they are on 'the side' of your head. Try laying them in a side parting and gradually the dreads will grow to hang further up on top of your head. I tie my hair back a lot by pulling them over my head ( as they were once too short at the front to tie by the side as I have a football sized head) so they are trained to be positioned on top of my head. Also the fact I have an undercut each side would mean I'd have no dreads otherwise Your progress looks great, don't worry to much about flat ones. They have their own charm.

Hi everyone! Im cruisin' along. About 5 months in and I have dealt with quite a lot of dreadlock shenanigans, haha. I am very excited to say that I am finally noticing that a bunch of my dreads are beginning to feel tight. Much tighter than ever before, and its been very exciting. I have already had people be envious of my dreads, disgusted by my dreads, and even 2 dudes from Jamaica ( I think? Going off accents.. not trying to be offensive!) Who called me Rasta Man and shook my hand and gave me a fist bump. Some of the people i know who have dreads look at me and tell me... hey man.. its time for maintenance, or even, "Hey Man, I know a girl who can tighten those for you". But i always respond with..Im fine, then i show them my favorite dread in the back, which has become nearly completely solid. Its evidence enough that time is all a person needs! I wear a hat a lot of the time.. mainly because i cannot keep my hands out of my dreads. I am non stop playing with them. Separating during movies and tv shows, palm rolling for fun and mainly just loving them. So here are a few of my most recent pictures! Always love feedback ^-^ Most pictures I take are for personal reference, so there are a lot of them showing the back and sides where I see the quickest progression. Not much going on in the front.
