Spent my whole life shaving my head even as a child but for over 10 years ive wanted dreads. Finally got to a point in my life that I feel is a good time to start the journey.
I was originally going to grow my hair out to around 12" then back comb it but I decided to take a different route. It got to around 6" and I chucked the comb out and im just letting it do its thing
Got a few pics of the growing stage, that in itself was an interesting, 28 years old and never been able to see my hair out the corner of my eyes.
Then in October I stopped brushing it...
4 Months now, I have about 20 dreadlings ontop of my head, the sides are just starting to section and the back is just a fluffy mess still :-)
5 months I have about 30 dreadlings on top and around the side, the back is still just fluffy with one starting at the bottom of hair line. Its a few strands with a clump at the end :-)
The back is finally knotting together and its often sticking straight up. I can feel some nice solid 2" dreads on the under layers around my ears. Almost at 6months now so here are some more pics...
Got enough hair to do 'the head hanging shot' ....
Cant find images for 10 and 11 months. But took a couple yeasterday as I realised im at 1 year now...
One year and two months...

Got myself a cheap 99p Buff. My dreads are rebelling against all my made up head bands so pushed the boat out. Just trying to find best way to wear it...
22 months now...
putting them up into a bun more often while its actually warm here.
