I believe I will be cutting and combing my dreads out. I have put a lot of thought into this. For one, I have not been able to combat the musky smell that my dreads get when wet. It's annoying and I've tried multiple things to fix the issue with no positive results. And for two, I feel like there is a lot of pent up bad vibes within my locs. I won't explain, but it's how I feel. A lot of negative things have happened within these 2 years and I'd like to start fresh.
I'm not saying that I won't toss the comb again, because I most likely will. I love the entire process and excitement of it. I just need to let go.

I totally get the negative vibes caught up in locks, main reason I got rid of mine! 8 year o bad juju! Good luck! Give Hazel a squish from me <3

Give Hazel a squish from me <3 The more I think about this dread journey the more I think about the bad things that have happened within these 2 years :/ Anthony and I went through some really shitty stuff that almost split us up, I don't want to think about the process and remember those negative times. And oh I will squish her loads for you!

Well... I just cut the ends off my dreads and I now have my head covered in conditioner and coconut oil. This is going to take soooo long.

If you're in a humid and/or a really wet place, I can totally understand. My second set never seemed to dry and I felt the need to cut. Might be why I prefer them a little thinner now. Anyhow, take comfort in your decision. You're doing what's best for you. Don't be surprised if your friends are initially bummed. They'll get over it. Don't despair when you see another dread head and long for them again, you've experienced what few ever will. Hope you still float on by this place and maybe somewhere in your long life, do another set...best of everything!

Like how jxbx (Right?) said it tho. not that this I s any real consolation but I think I have to undo one of mine cuz...well neway, your thing here helped...i know i have heard it before how to do it, but this was here at the right time...doing the conditioning right now...this dread is not budging still, it is sooo tight! I have to get my hook and hack away at it. ...tomorrow tho. (But yeah, was definitly holding residue)
