I think this has turned into nonsense.... Don't bring Chimping Beagle into it. It's all about trying stuff and finding what works for you. Different Stoats for different folks.

is it really harmful conducting the volcano experiment on your headevery soak? There should no 'volcano' as you should never apply both at once. Don't want anyone's head bursting into flames and summoning evil flying monkeys by the fires of dread sacrifice.

I am not trying to make trouble, quite the opposite. Just want insights.

I dunno. Tbh, I'm kinda tired of thinking about dreadlocks. My TJ's tea tree works well for me. So does this stuff called Avalon Lemon something or other that I got on sale at a discount store. My hair feels clean after I use them and I don't feel like there's any residue. Easy peazy lemon squeezy.

No, just joking really. But I don't want to overthink things too much. When I first started I read too much, fiddled around with things too much, and worried about shampoos and oils and salt sprays and measurements etc etc. All that seemed antithetical to what I was going for. My scalp was super itchy and irritated so I was making sprays and using oils and getting frustrated -- nothing helped. And, what was funny was just after I stopped doing anything besides washing and separating, my scalp quit being so irritated, things relaxed, and the whole thing became kinda fun. I'm a lazy minimalist so that approach is natural for me anyway.

Don't know where you are in the world, but I use this (British brand) shampoo and it's amazing. It doesn't have any bad chemicals in it, doesn't strip the oil off your scalp, seems to work with hard water and smells wonderful because of all the essential oils. I can really recommend it! www.faithinnature.co.uk

I just picked a random scent, they have heaps more. www.amazon.com/Faith-Nature-Shampoo-Normal-400ml/dp/B000NHKWJOOnly bad thing i would say about it is it lathers less than "normal" shampoos and I need to do two rounds of washing to have it feel completely clean, but I feel that's normal for dread shampoos and I don't mind

Only bad thing i would say about it is it lathers less than "normal" shampoos That's because it's the sulphates which make it foam. But I do find the patchouli gel wash from New Dawn Organics to lather very well.
