I'll be honest the US scares the crap out of me right now. Not just the political aspect but the people as well. I don't think majority of Americans actually realize that what they do, how they vote and how they think affects the entire world. It especially has an impact on their neighbors to the north. So if you are reading this and you can vote please consider how your vote will affect the entire world. I'm right there with you hun, but this brings us back to the election we had in 2000 where Al Gore won the popular vote overall but Bush ended up in office due to the electoral college (which in itself is a broken system)! I often wonder to myself what the world would be like today if Gore actually took office...If you're unfamiliar with the electoral collage we have what is known as red states (who are known for always voting Republican) blue states (always voting democrat) and swing states that could go either way (these are the votes that hold the most weight). Each state has a value depending on overall population. So votes in California and New York hold more weight than those of smaller states. The people who actually took the time to vote said they wanted Al Gore to take office, but his supporters in the red states didn't count at all.... sigh... So I'm in a state that always votes for republicans or a red state if you will, and even though I WILL vote, it never truly counts because my state has always been red. It's exhausting just thinking about it really..

That system seems so wrong! and scares me even more, I remember the Gore-Bush election. We watched the debates in class, and maybe I was just young and naive but that election didn't scare me half as much as this one does.
I really did not know that is how the votes worked. Then again I very rarely pay attention to politics.

The problem is, even if the public thinks the system is wrong, they won't do anything to change it.
After our last two elections, people have been complaining that the voting system has to be changed... yet in 2011 we had the opportunity to change to a system where people vote for the candidates in order of preference rather than picking one out of multiple choices, and the public voted against it.

America in a sand box we have horrendous foreign policy. We make tons off war so we create our own enemies. We love forcing other countries to trade with us or we sanction them till they do. Hmmm we also take a massive sledge hammer to the environment. Pretty much our systems of checks and balances is a joke. Hmmmm so much more lets see oh and the biggest part of it all. We are all ruled by families that heir from those that took power in the middle ages. No one in this country seems to be aware of the ruling class. Hmmm oh and for some reason most people think anarchy is chaos which is stupid. Tons more can be add

Sooo.... I was on a lovely peaceful drive with talk radio on and then the topic of cons of having a female president was heated on both sides. Biggest concern seemed to be whether or not a "she" in office would have the balls to push "the button" when the time comes.... Okaay... So I am of the firm belief that there should be absolutely no no no nooo button pushing of any kind, regardless of gender. The button should be completely outta reach of any leader.. period! The fact there is a button which could be pressed blows ma mind. U.S. - "Ohh.. So you have WMDs so we need to investigate i.e completely ruin your way of life, and as for you other countries all technology concerning the matter shall be placed on halt!" (As we "secretly" keep working on making ours bigger and more powerful). Stupid buttons...

www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/immigration-wonks-struggle-decipher-trump-s-new-position-n638516So Trump... ugh.. now not exactly gonna kick out 11 million immigrants when he hits office (still planning on building the Great Wall of US-EXICO... ) Undocumented Immigrants need to pay back taxes.. (as if) and the person to speak up on the matter is Sarah Palin, from Alaska! What's her problem with immigration? Not like Canada is itching to run up Alaska's skirt. If Republicans take office and are gonna kick out immigrants, then just kick me out too! I was born here, but never felt like home. All US Americans are immigrants, with the natives living on reservations (but we'll give them casino, booze and diabetes... arghg) Too exhausted to say more at the mo...

This was sooo moving and beautiful, it brought me to tears... after rejoining the Facebook world, away from all the crazies, I've learned that there is still hope, and Bernie is doing whatever he can, however he can to improve our nation. Be it from the stands or on the throne ♡ If we could just catch Clinton in something evil and take her down, Bern would have an actual chance of leader!! Wow... is that HOPE I hear coming from the tap tap tap of ma fingertips? Indubitably
