Hi guys, Had a timeline on the old site and didn't transfer my stuff fast enough. I spent many hours re-building it on my blog. canadianhikers.wordpress.com/category/all-about-dreadlocks/One year already! It feels like it was incredibly slow and fast at the same time! Overall, my dreads have gotten much thicker. I love them and I can see myself having them for another 10 years. Cheers!

I am so proud of this updo! It took me like 30 minutes but I'm glad I was patient.

Thanks for the comment! My hair was a little longer than shoulder length when I started. I used the backcomb and crochet method and It took over 20 hours to get them started. Since then, I've crocheted the roots 2 times. The funky squiggles happened on their own, and when I did some crochet maintenance I left them alone. I also use sea salt spray from time to time and I wash my hair about once a week.

Here is the tutorial for the updo. I decided not to braid the front because I have bangs. Well worth the effort

It took 3 washes back to back to finally have some clean water. Before After

Well excuse me for being a man, but (⊙‿⊙✿) The dreads are looking really cool. It is really satisfying to see a bowl or bath of murky water and a light happy set of clean dreads.
